While welcoming the guests, the Ag. Director General/CEO of FIIRO, Dr. (Mrs) Yemisi Asagbra expressed FIIRO's readiness to deploy its human and material resources to assist NATE in realising her aspirations, especially in the areas of equipment fabrication and training. She recalled the age long working relationship with NATE that culminated in the design and fabrication of the rice distoning machine which came handy at the early stages of local production of rice in the country. She spoke further on the need for NATE to work on the "All in One" cassava processing equipment that will help in removing the drudgery of cassava processing being experienced by the rural processors.

He spoke of the association's plans to train Nigerian youths on equipment fabrication and would like  FIIRO to assist in making its machines, tools and equipment available for the training. He expressed confidence in FIIRO's technical manpower that can serve as resource persons for the training programme. With this training Engr. Ibidapo is of the view that many unemployed youths roaming the streets will have something to do.

Lending his voice to the discuss the Director Project Development and Design of FIIRO, Engr.(Dr.) Bolanle ASHIRU spoke on the need to further work together as a team to improve on the rice distoner and the rice drier as initiated by FIIRO and NATE.

Going down memory lane it will be recalled that FIIRO has always championed agro processing drives in order to improve on the value chain of agricultural produce. Recently the institute in collaboration with some local and international organisations introduced the Mobile Cassava Processing Unit for cassava processors in the rural areas.
