Soap is a daily consumable, needed by every house hold. The process for developing a laundry soap with the use of palm kernel oil has been developed by the institute, this technology is also available for entrepreneurship technology transfer.
The FIIRO Neem liquid soap from Neem extracts contains antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial properties which is highly effective against infections. This has been very effective against the COVID-19 virus.
FIIRO Neem Derivate Liquid Soap
The institute has developed this technology from cassava, which can be used in the textile industry. This would help to reduce the importation of this products and expand our economic development.
These are important component in the packaging, printing and binding industries, and the institute has developed this technology using cassava roots, as the main raw material and this would help to reduce the importation of this items into the country.
Industrial enzymes are very essential in our Industries which at present rely on importation since there are no local Industry producing enzymes in Nigeria.
Presently, FIIRO has done extensive R & D activities on the following Industrial Enzymes: Glucoamylase, Pectinase, Cellulase and Xylanase.
Pectinase has been effectively used in the production of various fruit processing such as Clarified fruit juices, Mango powder production, to mention just a few. Amylase or Glucoamylase has a significant role in starch processing in the food industries, such as for the fructose and glucose syrup.
