INTRODUCTION

This department is focused on R&D activities in chemical, fibre and environmental areas to produce patentable products and technologies for the chemical, agro-allied and industrial sectors. Major research activities of the department comprises pulp, paper and packaging research, research on essential oil productions, curtailing environmental pollution and waste management. The department also provides technical assistance to micro, small and medium and large scale industries through collaboration, contract research, process monitoring and quality evaluation. Major laboratories in the department include textile research laboratory, polymer laboratory, packaging, etc.

ACHIEVEMENTS
